6 month unemployment offer

 

Have you been out of work for over six months?


“New Start” – Free Back to Work Training for the Unemployed.
Northampton College offers a range of free courses that are suitable for those people who have been out of work for 6 months or more. Each course runs for less than 15 hours a week and will not affect your entitlement to benefits.


All those enrolling on a “New Start” programme will receive a one-to-one interview with a recruitment specialist, a personalised individual learning plan, and the opportunity to complete a basic two week employability skills course – all FREE of charge. 


Our “New Start” Employability course covers:

 

  • CV writing, interviews and job applications
  • Skills & Abilities Assessment
  • Successful Interview Techniques
  • Job search skills & applying for jobs
  • Understanding Local Labour Market Information


Applicants are also able to enrol directly onto one of the following courses free of charge as part of the “New Start” programme. This will not affect your entitlement to benefits.

 

  • Computing & Information Technology
  • Basic Skills
  • Management
  • Health Care and Childcare
  • Teaching
  • Computing
  • Literacy & Numeracy
