bill chalker webAfter 38 years as a career banker and two years consulting I have retired to focus on supporting my family in particular our first two grandchildren. My banking career followed a non-traditional path through the branch hierarchy up to lending manager but also included several years as a technical lecturer for bank managers. I then moved into Cash Management, enabling major corporates to integrate their automated payments and receipts mechanisms and data with the banking system.

In my own time I have been a financial broadcaster, a scout leader; a school governor for 22 years, Mentor for Uprising in Bedford through The Harpur Trust; Chair, Vice Chair, Director and Responsible Officer of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation (incorporating 4 Academies); Chair of Risk & Audit Committee for 4 years; Independent Examiner of Annual Accounts for local charitable organisations; Area Homewatch Co-ordinator and Editor of Oakley Newsletter for Oakley Parish Council.

robert daveyI am a Corporate banker for Barclays in Northampton but I have a varied background and unlike most have never worked in a branch!

Following a Business degree at University, my career began on the graduate program for Enterprise Rent-a-car gaining promotion from my native East Anglia bringing me to the area and branch manager in Milton Keynes.

After 4 years, I joined The Royal Bank of Scotland to set up and run a Corporate daily rental offering, selling and account managing daily rental for the banks major corporate clients.

RBS relocated me to Birmingham where I worked in a strategy and product role. Here I built, designed and developed a new product to help businesses with their duty of care for driving following the 2008 Corporate Manslaughter Act.

Only in 2009 did I 'get into banking’!

I now manage a team in Northampton work with Mid Corporate clients with a turnover typically between £5m and £100m in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. I hold an Association of Corporate Treasurers qualification and am a Director in a niche brake disc business.

Outside of work I have a young family but manage to play the odd round of golf, love “Park runs” and enjoy real ale but not during Corporation meetings!

tracey branson websiteI have worked for the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce since 2002, fulfilling various roles within the Human Resource department allowing me to complete my CIPD qualification in February 2007 and becoming a MCIPD in January 2008. After the spilt of Business Link and Chamber In April 2007 I took on the boarder remit of Head of Corporate Services and a subsequent reshuffle in April 2009 resulted in the present role of Head of Operations. This current role allows a mix of operational and strategic duties working with staff, Chamber members and the Board. In 2013 the Northamptonshire Chamber was successful in its bid to run a Chamber in the Milton Keynes area and so I now take on the spilt role of Head of Operations for both organisations. Previous to joining the Chamber I held various roles including working with the Armed Forces and their families in Information Offices across Germany.

ellen buttlerMy current position as Director for Initial Teacher Training (FE and Skills) at the University of Warwick, requires me to quality assure and quality improve teacher training provision across 7 General Further Education Colleges in the Midlands. Prior to this I worked in further education for 23 years. My teaching career started in 1991. I quickly moved in to a full time teaching role and not long afterwards in to educational management. My last role was as Head of Centre for Daventry, which is one of three main sites at Northampton College. This was a strategic role requiring me to effectively lead on matters relating to estates and facilities and to liaise with appropriate personnel on all aspects of the curriculum and the quality of provision thereafter. I was also the advisor on education matters in local strategic partnerships and other external committees. Prior to this I worked as Director for Business and Management at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College strategically leading and operationally managing a wide range of curriculum areas including Business and Management, Computing, Access to Higher Education, Maths and English GCSE provision and Initial Teacher Education. I have two grown up children, my daughter is a primary school teacher and my son is a motor vehicle mechanic.
