Mas worked as an IT lecturer in Kuala Lumpur before moving to the UK, where for three years she worked at the Chartered Management Institute at Corby. She loves the varied climate of the UK and enjoys walking and visiting villages in the area.
"It was only when I came to the UK and moved out of of the classroom that I realised how much teaching meant to me," says Mas. "I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms, so that's why I was excited by the opportunity to join the College as a learning facilitator in 2004. I saw it as a way back into lecturing, but in fact I enjoy the less structured approach that still involves teaching skills and working with students that I don't want to move on yet. One of the projects that excites me most is my involvement in developing the Learning Resource Centre website. And the College is sponsoring me in my post graduate course in eLearning. Staff development is a high priority here."
"The facilities are superb. We have three libraries and two computer drop-in centres with 120 computers plus printers and other technology. The social life is good, though I could accommodate a few more parties!"
