Summary of course

This qualification is designed to provide new entrants and those seeking progression in their career, with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to carry out job roles and responsibilities associated with the maintenance of Electro technical systems. This qualification is available at Level 3 only, which is the level that the Electro technical industry recognises students as having achieved the competence required to carry out the role.

How is the course assessed?

Through a series of tests and assignments completed in college. Site Diaries built and assessed in the workplace. Functional Skills exams.

Unit 399 Electrotechnical occupational competence (ELT OC1) is assessed externally through an AM2 exam.

Who is this course for?

This apprenticeship is ideal for you if you are working as a trainee in a role that involves maintenance or building and installations of electrical systems.

Progression and Career Opportunities

Apprentices can progress onto the Level 4 Building and Service HNC via Leicester University.

Entry Requirements for new students

GCSE 4-9 (A*- C) in Maths, English and Science or a Level 2 Electrical Installations certificate.

All applicants will be invited in for interview.

Equivalent qualifications will be considered except where English has been studies as a second language and is required at GCSE grade 9-4 (A*-C).

In exceptional circumstances, applications which do not meet the formal entry criteria may be considered on an individual basis.

Interview Requirements

Be prepared to sit English and maths assessments.
