Summary of course

At Northampton College we are able , through being accredited with CSWTO, to accredit and train welders to fulfil any of the welding position below in accordance to BS EN 6947 to the following welding standards:

  • BSEN 287
  • BSEN 9606
  • ASME 1X
  • BSEN 4872.

All weld testing is underwritten by the TWI and comes with an independent UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) testing service.

Our welding engineers are qualified to work according to the main international welding standards, many of them are involved in the standardisation committees and their skills have often proven crucial in providing clarification on the intent of clauses within welding standards.

How is the course assessed?

The course is assessed via a Independent UKAS accredited centre or internally for the BSEN 4872.

Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for experienced welders who require relevant coding qualifications or Level 2 3268 qualified or above candidates to help them meet industrial requirements.

Entry Requirements for new students

Level 2 3268 or above or pre-existing coding qualifications. You will need an interview with one of our tutors and bring with you relevant Welding qualifications, CV and letter of intent from your employer before enrolling onto this qualification.

Due to the requirements of the material specifications this may be provided by the candidates company or internally by the college. Candidates will be required to supply their own PPE.
