City & Guilds CAD courses provide comprehensive training on Computer Aided Design software. Our range of CAD training qualifications will help you develop your career in manufacturing or engineering design, whether you are just starting out or you're an experienced designer looking to acquire specialist 2D/3D design skills.
Our Level 1 Award in Parametric Modelling is ideal for anyone looking to start working with CAD software, or who already has some limited experience.
There is only one qualification available at this Level. The single unit includes how to use:
- Associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems
- A range of commands to create and constrain sketches
- A range of commands to produce extruded and revolved features.
This unit will equip candidates with an understanding of the CAD Parametric Modelling environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings. It will explore the typical composition of a CAD Parametric Modelling system and Health and Safety matters that are associated with safe working practices.

How is the course assessed?
Assignment 7689-101 This assignment covers all the learning outcomes in this unit. Assignment set by City & Guilds, internally marked, externally verified.
Each assignment consists of practical tasks and short-answer questions.

Entry Requirements for new students

However, we at the college must ensure that you have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualifications successfully so we will provide you with an Advice and Guidance interview to make sure you have all required information to for you to ultimately be successful by the end of this course.
