Computing and Information Technology

Are you interested in computing and Information Technology applications? Do you have a passion for communications systems and systems support? Would like to learn more about web design or how to programme computers? If so, we provide a whole range of courses encompassing Software Development, Systems Support, ICT, Computer Studies, IT User and Web Design, providing you with REAL opportunities to enter this exciting, fast-moving world.

 

We pride ourselves in providing a full range of both general and specialist full-time courses in Computing and Information Technology, and use an extensive range of software, including Microsoft Office, C++, Visual Basic, Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks. We also use other specialist software programmes, such as Microsoft Project and CISCO Academy learning material.

 

Our vocational programmes cover the full range, from BTEC Introductory Diploma to BTEC National Diploma, iTQ IT User qualifications or A Levels in ICT and Computing.

 

For those with specific requirements, we have plenty of vocational progression routes. For example, BTEC First Diplomas can potentially lead onto the BTEC National suite of qualifications.

 

We also offer a full range of specialist part-time courses, including the CISCO Networking Academy, which can be taken as an additional qualification. Elements of these are incorporated into several programmes.

 

You should expect some additional costs of approximately £100 for books and other learning resources. Students who are 19 years of age and over will also be expected to pay the full examination costs which are approximately £100.

 

A high level of importance is placed on your attendance, as this shows your commitment to the course and your own learning, so we expect 100% attendance.

 

All our programmes include literacy and numeracy, Tutorial, Enrichment and Additionality which includes one of the following: GCSE Maths and English, Health & Safety, Keyboard Skills or Digital Cre8or.
