Five GCSEs at Grades A* - C including English Language and Art or Design.
Course Content
On this course, you’ll be encouraged to work with a variety of media and techniques, including acrylics, charcoal, pastel, collage and montage, using a variety of sources, including life models and still life. Particular emphasis is on observation and developing an understanding of line, shape, form, colour, tone, pattern and texture. Using a personal and individual response, you’ll produce a selection of coursework, a controlled assignment under exam conditions, a major in-depth study of an aspect of particular interest, and a controlled test produced over a set period. You’ll need to be imaginative, intuitive, aware of other artists’ work, both past and present, willing to put in extra hours and have a achieved a Grade C in an Art-related GCSE.
