Five GCSEs at Grades A* - C including English Language.
Course Content
If you have an interest in reading as well as the use of language and are prepared to express your opinion, you’ll find this course very interesting. At AS Level, you’ll explore the structures and functions of writing, speech and conversation, and examine three social contexts: Language and Power, Language and Gender, and Language and Technology. You’ll also develop your own writing skills. At A2 Level, you’ll explore the nature and functions of language, looking at how children’s speech develops from 0-11 years and language change since the 18th century. You’ll also have an opportunity to carry out an investigation in a relevant linguistic area.
