Course Content
Did you enjoy Mathematics and Science at GSCE Level? Are you looking for a career that requires good scientific knowledge, problem-solving skills and logical thinking? If so, Physics A Level could be for you, and can help open the door to a huge range of careers in computing, engineering, industry, finance, medicine and other areas. There is a shortage of people with Physics degrees and they are in great demand in all aspects of the world of work. This is a traditional programme of study, designed to give you a solid background in Physics, and includes such subjects as Particles, Quantum Phenomena and Electricity; Mechanics, Materials and Waves; and Investigative and Practical Skills. You’ll also carry out experimental work as part of the course. Through the Faulke’s Telescope Project, we are able to control telescopes in Australia and Hawaii via the internet and view objects of interest in their night sky during our daylight hours, and this forms part of the Astrophysics option. You’ll need to enjoy learning about the Universe and show commitment to learning theoretical concepts and ideas.
