Course Content
This course is ideal for those who wish to understand the scope of the financial services industry and how, with proper planning, you can be inspired to meet your lifetime aspirations. By understanding the industry, how it operates and what it has to offer, you will be able to compare a range of financial solutions and therefore make sound financial judgments in particular contexts. It is relevant for all students. Unit 1 enables you to gain an appreciation of individual needs, wants, and aspirations in relation to your personal life-cycle. Unit 2 enables you to assess the risk and rewards in relation to different financial services. Both of these units are examined by an electronic multiple-choice exam. Unit 3 allows you to make informed and appropriate financial judgments within a given situation such as selecting the most appropriate bank account for an individual. This unit is assessed through a written exam. You must pass Units 1 and 2 in order to sit the Unit 3 exam. This one year course is equivalent to an AS level and is graded in the same way.
