Entry Requirements
You will need either:
Four GSCEs at Grade C or above (including English and Art), or a Merit Grade at Level 2 in Art and Design including GCSE English at Grade C.
Course Content
This course is designed for those who enjoy Art and Design but are unsure of which career path to follow and wish to explore all the possibilities. The first year is broad-based and will cover graphic design, fashion and textiles, fine art and 3D design. You’ll develop skills in drawing and the use of variety of media and materials, whilst exploring the work of artists and designers, both historical and contemporary. Year 2 is more specialist, supporting your area of interest and application to a Higher Education course. You’ll finish by writing and completing a final major project and mounting an exhibition of your work. Throughout, you’ll be encouraged to develop basic skills in literacy and communication, and will receive strong personal tutorial support.
There will be an opportunity for you to take GCSE Maths if you do not already have a Grade C in this subject.
