Four GCSEs at Grade D or above or an appropiate Level 1 qualification.
Course Content
This programme involves the maintenance and servicing
of motor vehicles.
Topics include:
• Vehicle layouts and construction
• Fault diagnosis and rectification
• Vehicle electrical systems
• Transmission systems
• Steering and suspension
• Health and safety.
You will also study for qualifications in Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English.
Next Step
It is recommended that during your study you continue to seek employment in the motor industry so you may continue your qualifications through an Apprenticeship. You might also consider further study through the BTEC Level 3 routes in Vehicle Mechanical. Alternatively you can continue to study motor vehicle qualifications in Level 2 Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing.
