BTEC Level 2 in Health & Social Care
Four GCSEs at Grade D or above including English and Maths or appropriate Level 1 qualification.
The course provides a thorough introduction for those looking to start a career as a carer and comprises six modules, including Health and Safety, the values and principles of caring, and the differing needs of clients from childhood to old age. There will also be opportunities to gain practical experience through two work placements (one with children, and one with the elderly). GCSE English and Maths and/or Functional Skills may also be studied as part of this qualification.
If you achieve a Merit/Distinction grade, you could seek employment as a Care Assistant with training or progress to BTEC Level 3 in Health Studies, with a GCSE English at Grade C or above.
