Level 2 Professional Chef Diploma (new starters)
If you are joining the programme at Level 2 you should have successfully completed the VRQ Level 1 Diploma in Professional Cookery with a Merit or have four GCSEs at Grade D or above plus relevant industry experience.
This course continues to develop the skills attained in the VRQ Level 1 qualification, together with additional pastry skills.
The course includes the following qualifications:
• VRQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery
• ABC Level 2 Certificate for Pastry Chefs
• Functional Skills in English and Maths or GCSE Maths or English dependent on entry results.
To automatically progress to the VRQ Level 3 programme, you will to need to successfully complete all the qualifications in this programme (including a Merit in the Diploma for Professional Cookery). Alternatively you may wish to continue your training in the workplace through the Apprenticeship programme, or seek employment in the catering industry.
