General Foundation Learning programme – start date September 2013

Course Content

Everybody starts with these subjects, at a level that is right for you:

• English

• Maths

• IT.

You will also develop skills through our Personal and Social Development qualifications. These will help you to be confident in a wide range of useful areas that will help you to become self-sufficient and employable. Work experience, volunteering and links to Apprenticeships also form part of the programme.

You will be given the opportunity to try a number of subject areas including (depending on where you study):

• Engineering

• Motor Vehicle

• Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

• Health and Social Care

• Art and Design

• Media

• Music

• Performing Arts

• Hospitality and Catering

• IT

• Business

• Public Services

• Science.

When you identify the subject that you really enjoy and to which you are best suited, you can and progress to the next level of study.

You need to be aged between 16 and 23.
