Our wide range of programmes and extensive training facilities can prepare you for a highly-successful and enjoyable career – from managing or running your own salon to becoming a make-up specialist, nail technician or complementary therapist. If you have the ambition, our highly-qualified and dedicated staff, with their wealth of experience, can help you achieve your goal.
Courses are designed to meet the needs of those leaving school, in employment, changing career or returning to work after a break. You will be given every opportunity to develop your professional skills through tuition and supervision, and working on members of the public within a real working environment.
The Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Team has an excellent track record in achieving success in national competitions. We work closely with local employers, such as Whittlebury Hall, that provide work experience and employment opportunities for our students. The Hair and Beauty Reception areas in College cater for approximately 5,000 customers from the general public every academic year.
The College’s brand new state-of-the-art Hair and Beauty salons at Lower Mounts in Northampton Town Centre and in Daventry offer a full range of treatments at competitive prices. This fabulous facility offers a unique opportunity to learn the latest techniques in a first-class 21st century environment.
Our specialist resources include:
• A commercial hair and nail studio
• Four hairdressing, four beauty therapy and one nail bar training salons, all equipped with the latest teaching and learning technology
• At Badby Road West in Daventry there are four training salons for hairdressing and beauty therapy
• All products used in the salon are professionally-recognised and some are available for retail sale.
Enrichment programme
As well as the main academic programme, you'll also be expected to take part in the College Enrichment Programme, which offers a wide range of activities such as sign language, sports, drumming, driving test theory and many more.
