OCR Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development
Summary of course
The course is aimed at those studying in preparation for employment in the career guidance sector, or employed in the career guidance sectors who are wishing to undertake professional development. You will gain a Level 6 qualification to support further studying the Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) in the career guidance sector.
The target market is to those working in professional roles providing career guidance and development to clients. The course will cover career guidance theories and models to practice in order to support clients to make realistic and informed decisions and plans regarding new learning or training opportunities and career planning e.g: career, advice and guidance managers/supervisors, educationalists, voluntary service and employability support.
Programme Structure: To enable achievement of this qualification you must achieve a total of 60 credits:
- Mandatory - 45 credits from the 7 units in Group A
- Optional - a minimum of 15 credits from the units in Group B

How is the course assessed?
The course is assessed via a variety of evidence including assignments, observation, a witness testimony, professional discussion which can be put into a portfolio or onto an e-portfolio. There will also be a requirement for the candidate to attend some workshops but will mostly work on a one to one basis with an assessor.
