Cut-a-thon for Holly
Staff and students from the Salon NC at Northampton College Daventry took part in a Cut-a-thon on Friday 7 May, donating proceeds to the Holly Davies Hope Fund. Holly suffers from cerebral palsy.
In four hours, the group of students from the Intensive Hairdressing course cut and styled the hair of 19 clients, and collected sponsor money raising over £300. They were even assessed on their work, which will form a part of their final grade. The money will help fund Holly’s trip to America next month where she will undergo life changing surgery. Holly’s mum Jo works at the College.
Hairdressing tutor Hilary Wintersgill said, ‘I’ve worked with Jo for a number of years and the students are also very fond of her so we all wanted to do something to contribute. The Cut-a-thon was a lot of fun, there was such a great atmosphere in the salon!’
