The new Head of Centre, Ellen Butler from Northampton College’s Daventry Centre will be donning a sandwich board and asking local people for their views on vocational provision and education in the town.
Ellen Butler was recently been appointed to the College and is eager to establish what the people of Daventry would like to see as part of the new offer. The College is keen to make sure it is offering the type of training and education that meets the needs of local people and is also eager to build its role within the community, by offering appropriate services, facilities and opportunities at its site near the Town Centre.
The ‘Have Your Say’ survey which Ellen is piloting forms a big part of the overall re-launch of the College’s Daventry Centre.
Ellen says “I consider it vital that we engage with local people to elicit their views on what they would like to see offered at the Daventry centre. Rather than provide a list of educational opportunities which I think local people might want, I want to switch it around and ask the question - what would you like to study or engage with at the centre? first. We are then in a better position to look at how we meet local demand.”
This is the first of many events that Ellen and her team will be organising around Daventry and Tesco have kindly agreed for there to be a regular slot at their store throughout November.
All completed questionnaires will be entered into a prize draw and one lucky winner could win a Tesco voucher to the value of £50*.
In addition, the College will be opening its doors on Tuesday, 13 November to allow people to come along and have their say in person. Everyone is welcome to attend between 5pm and 7pm, to see the new facilities, take part in a range of activities and meet our staff. Refreshments will be provided.
