Giving you REAL support

We realise that for many learners joining us this will be your first experience of college life. So, we want to reassure you – we’ll give you REAL support whenever you need it, whatever you’re studying and whatever your particular learning needs.

Our Learner Support Centres a range of services;

Our Learner Support Centres are based in the Atrium areas at Booth Lane and Daventry and operate on a drop in basis.

Your Personal Tutor

As soon as you start your studies, you’ll be allocated a Personal Tutor. This is the person you can come to for help, advice and support – whether it’s for your learning programme or personal issues. You’ll attend regular tutorials and together with your tutor, you’ll decide on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP). You’ll be able to agree your own personal learning targets, talk about your progress and, of course, your achievements at college will be recorded.

Examinations

When it comes to exam time, your tutor will make sure you’re  entered for the correct exam or registered for the correct qualification. They are there to help you and support you with your examination entries and registrations. For examination details, i.e. dates, times and venues, you’ll need to refer to the relevant Examinations Notice board at either Northampton or Daventry. We’ll normally send examination/course results and certificates to your home address, and you can collect summer results for AS & A2/ Applied AS & A2/GCSEs from the College.

Equal Opportunities

We are committed to a policy of inclusiveness and diversity. Our Single Equalities Scheme aims to promote an environment of equality and stresses that nobody will be treated less favourably than others on grounds of race, gender, belief, sexual orientation, age, disability or learning difficulty. If at any stage you feel you are being= discriminated against or harassed, use the College Grievance Procedures to raise the issue. This procedure can be initiated through your tutor, Programme Manager or through Learner Support.
