mark robbins photo governorI am a qualified accountant who spent the first half of his career working in various finance roles across a range of industries including electricity supply, travel, banking and insurance.

After completing an MBA at Warwick Business School I joined the Corporate Development department of what was then Abbey National (now part of Santander UK) and subsequently moved into risk management.

I worked at Lloyds Banking Group for twelve years in a number of “Director” level financial risk management and regulatory change roles.

I have lived in Northampton for the last eleven years.

sharon bunkerMy name is Sharon Bunker and I am a new member of the board nominated to represent the staff at the college.

My background has been within education for many years, 13 of them spent within the college. I started in Primary education and then moved straight to FE at Moulton. I joined the college in 2005 as a teacher in Foundation studies and have progressed and trained to my current role as a Coordinator. As a coordinator within the Maths department, my role is to support my colleagues and provide guidance to the department. I am passionate about teaching maths to my students and enjoy working as part of a team. I am very proud to have helped the college achieve our “maths centre of excellence” badge by increasing our achievement rates. I am a keen member of the college and have a vast knowledge of teams across the Organisation.

In my personal life, I spend a lot of my spare time with my family. Family is important to me and I strive to be an encouraging factor in their lives. I have supported my own daughters through their own life careers and my desire for being within the governors is to similarly support the students to achieve their own goals.

I am also an avid football supporter having previously coached a girls’ team for over 5 years as both of my daughters played football.

I am committed to maintaining high standards within the college and feel proud to be a part of the board.
helen scott governorMy current position is Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities at the University of Northampton, where I have worked for almost 5 years. I'm responsible for the academic quality and standards of the Faculty which includes the following subjects: History, English and Creative Writing, Education, Children and Young People, Early Years, Initial Teacher Training, Educational Linguistics, Special Educational Needs and Inclusion and Teacher Continuing Professional Development. Previously, I worked at Manchester Metropolitan University as Head of Partnerships, collaborating with hundreds of primary and secondary schools plus several FE colleges in training significant numbers of beginning teachers at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across the Greater Manchester area. I began my career in higher education leading a secondary Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) course in Art at St Martin's College (later to become the University of Cumbria). At St Martin's I also taught undergraduate Fine Art students life drawing, painting, and sculpture, later moving on to running a large MA in Education for experienced teachers. Before my roles in higher education I taught art and design for six years in a secondary school in London and for three years at Luton Sixth Form College. I've been very lucky in my career to combine my two passions in life-education and art-and to work with some incredibly talented students and educators who have all inspired me in different ways. I have one son aged 21 and currently live in Olney.
