My current position as Director for Initial Teacher Training (FE and Skills) at the University of Warwick, requires me to quality assure and quality improve teacher training provision across 7 General Further Education Colleges in the Midlands. Prior to this I worked in further education for 23 years. My teaching career started in 1991. I quickly moved in to a full time teaching role and not long afterwards in to educational management. My last role was as Head of Centre for Daventry, which is one of three main sites at Northampton College. This was a strategic role requiring me to effectively lead on matters relating to estates and facilities and to liaise with appropriate personnel on all aspects of the curriculum and the quality of provision thereafter. I was also the advisor on education matters in local strategic partnerships and other external committees. Prior to this I worked as Director for Business and Management at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College strategically leading and operationally managing a wide range of curriculum areas including Business and Management, Computing, Access to Higher Education, Maths and English GCSE provision and Initial Teacher Education. I have two grown up children, my daughter is a primary school teacher and my son is a motor vehicle mechanic.
