1056 56680The Principal, Pat Brennan-Barrett, leads a senior team responsible for managing the business areas of the College and developing, delivering and managing the curriculum. The curriculum is delivered through six Schools.

The College provides a service for local employers and we respond to their needs through our Business Centre, based at Booth Lane. We can help businesses to access government funding to provide Apprenticeships. We also offer a broad range of training options funded by other organisations such as the European Social Fund (ESF).

Staff are given every opportunity to develop their skills and we are committed to supporting a professionally-qualified and experienced workforce.

working togetherNorthampton College conducts an open process for the selection of sub-contractors to work with the College. The College will ask all sub-contractors to complete a full due diligence questionnaire in line with Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) guidelines.

Supply chain fees and charges policy 

We work closely with other further and higher education providers in Northamptonshire including Moulton College and The University of Northampton. We also partner with the Rights & Equality Council, the local Chamber of Commerce and other organisations as part of our mission to become the college in the community.

We support more than 4,000 full-time students, most of whom are aged 16-18 across a wide range of subjects. We also have strong links with local schools and Northamptonshire County Council.

We collaborate with a number of employers across the county, many of whom sponsor courses and engage our students in work experience and career opportunities.

Northampton College is the leading general further education college in the region with around 9,000 students and a turnover of over £30M. We employ around 600 permanent members of staff and around 300 working on a flexible basis. We offer a broad range of full-time and part-time courses, many funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA).

In addition, we offer higher education courses in partnership with the Universities of Northampton and Warwick, and offer support to a range of other organisations including the voluntary sector.

  • High overall pass rates for 95% of students with 94% progressing to further study or employment.

  • Data released as part of the latest 2017/18 National Achievement Rates Tables (NART) shows Northampton College is ranked 11th out of more than 200 colleges for 16 to 18-year-old education and training.  That represents a rise of 198 places in the rankings in just four years, to become the leading provider of Further Education in the South East Midlands and among the very best in the whole country.

  • A credible record for GCSE English and maths with achievement rates of 86.5% and 86.7% respectively - 4% above the national average.

  • We have state-of-the-art facilities at Booth Lane and Lower Mounts in Northampton and Daventry. A new multi-million pound Advanced Construction Engineering Centre is due to open at Booth Lane in September 2019

  • 8 out of 10 students are happy with their course

  • 88% of employers would recommend a Northampton College apprentice

  • We have received the The Reading Agency’s Gold Award for seven successive years.
