Students at Northampton College are celebrating another strong set of Level 3 results, with this year’s achievements across T Levels, A Levels and BTECs providing a springboard to employment, apprenticeships and higher education.
The College has achieved an A Level pass rate of 97 per cent, with almost two-thirds of students achieving A*-C grades. Eight out of 13 subjects had 100 per cent pass rates.
In T Levels, highlights included 100 per cent of students completing the Design, Surveying and Planning, Digital Support Services and Health courses achieving either Merit or Distinction grades. Half of those completing the T Level in Digital Support Services achieved the highest possible grade of Distinction – the equivalent to three As at A Level.
The success highlights the importance and impact of successful partnerships and industry placements with key local employers such as WINVIC and Balfour Beatty.
While many students will now head straight into the world of work, many will be continuing their education elsewhere. Northampton College students have secured places at some of the country’s leading ‘ Russell Group’ universities, including Warwick, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York and Cardiff.
While strong grades are an important achievement, Northampton College says the results also reflect its focus on ensuring students leave with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed beyond the classroom.
The College offers a range of Level 3 pathways, including academic A Levels, vocational BTECs and T Levels, giving students the opportunity to choose the route that best suits their ambitions and preferred way of learning.
For students taking T Levels, this includes a substantial industry placement alongside classroom-based learning. The placements give students the opportunity to develop practical and technical skills in a real working environment, while building confidence and gaining experience that can strengthen their CVs.
Northampton College works closely with employers across a range of sectors to ensure students have opportunities to engage with industry and understand what is expected of them in the workplace. Its employer offer includes T Levels, work experience, careers events, apprenticeships and other opportunities to connect students with potential future employers.
The College’s T Level provision now spans areas including health and social care, education and early years, business, digital, construction, engineering, law and science, reflecting the breadth of industries in which skilled workers are needed.
