Four Northampton College business students are holding a charity fun run to raise money for a teenager who suffers hundreds of seizures every single day.

Olivia Stokes, Lewis Knowlton, Isabelle Bull and Maria Sirghi ' who are all studying Level 3 Business Project Management ' are staging the 5km event in Abington Park from 11am on Saturday, February 29 in support of local charity LifeForLewis.

Lewis, aged 17, has tried numerous ways to manage his condition, including dietary changes and oxygen therapy, but he still suffers from multiple severe seizures on a daily basis.
Olivia said: Lewis is diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, a rare and severe kind of epilepsy which starts during childhood. Lewis' parents have continued fundraising for their son as they need numerous disability-specific items and equipment that are not available through the NHS or statutory services.

Lewis is severely disabled and unable to do anything for himself. He relies on his parents for all his personal care needs. He requires 24 hour care on a daily basis, his parents had to give up their work to look after him.

We have chosen to do a small 5k fun run in honour of Lewis' father, Gary Herbert. Gary is doing 52 marathons in 52 weeks for Lewis' appeal, and has already completed 22 runs.

The 5km fun run in Abington Park costs £5 to enter. Anyone interested in taking part can register via a dedicated Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/RaceForLewis/
