City & Guilds Level 3 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design (7689-05)

Summary of course

With the Level 3 Certificate you will be required to complete two units from 2D CAD, 3D CAD and/or Parametric Modelling.

This course will enable the student to have the knowledge and practical skills to create complex drawings including annotations and output using multiple view layouts. It will also enable them to manage CAD drawing data and libraries in line with industry standards.

How is the course assessed?

All units in these qualifications are assessed by assignments set by City & Guilds, internally marked by centres and externally verified. These assignments are graded Pass, Merit and Distinction.

Each assignment consists of practical tasks and short-answer questions.

Who is this course for?

Level 3 is ideal for you if you have a background in computing and design and you may have worked in manufacturing or engineering design for some time. You want to develop specialist 2D/3D design skills to help you move on in your career.

Entry Requirements for new students

You must already hold a Level 2 CAD qualification or equivalent or be able to demonstrate you have the skills already that will allow you to be successful at Level 3.

You will need to receive Advice and Guidance from one of our tutors to make sure you have correct information, meet the requirements and have sufficient skills to ultimately be successful.

Anyone can take this qualification, but you must make sure you can access the resources you need to complete it.

You will need a data memory stick, folder, paper and pens.
