The list goes on, and gets bigger every year.

You could follow in the footsteps of our former students - award winning, internationally known performing and recording artists like Temples and Flux Pavilion. Maybe you’ll go into the business side of the industry like Katie Malco, or transfer your music and technology skills into other creative pathways, like former students James Acaster and Dan TDM.

Whatever you decide, you can start your amazing musical journey here at Northampton College.

Our highly regarded music department will help you to develop your musical skills and knowledge, giving you the experience you need to make a successful career in today’s rapidly evolving music industry.
You will learn about key aspects of the industry – from marketing and promotion, through to licensing and publishing, as well its rich history and origins.

You will have access to the latest technology, software and sound equipment in our state-of-the-art music facilities, where we will encourage you to create original music in all formats, genres and styles. Our students have regular opportunities to perform at our bespoke venue at college, and at local venues such as The Roadmender, The Lab and The Platform.

All of our staff have extensive professional knowledge, and work closely with record labels, promoters, and media organisations to arrange for guest speakers to visit our students and share their experience of the music industry.

We are very proud of the vibrant and creative musical culture within our music department, and would love you to join our community of musicians, songwriters and producers who are all passionate about music. We look forward to making music with you soon!
