What happens at an Open Event?

You can talk to our tutors, see the amazing facilities and hear about our exciting range of full-time courses and Apprenticeships. You can also talk to fellow students about their experiences at Northampton College and explore as many options as you like to find a course that suits you.
I’m not sure what I want to study, should I still attend?

Whether you’ve already applied or have no idea what you want to study yet, our Open Events are perfect for you! You can explore our state of the art buildings and facilities and get a better feel for student life. Teachers will be on hand to explain in depth about individual courses. Our Student Services team will also be there to offer advice and guidance on careers, transport, finance, wellbeing and more.
Which campuses will be open?

Depending on the date, we’re open in Northampton at both our campuses or in Daventry at Badby Road West. If you’re interested in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy then please visit our campus at Lower Mounts.
Is parking free?

There is plenty of free parking at Booth Lane including spaces near the entrance for disable people that can be accessed via the Booth Lane and St Gregory’s Road entrances. Parking is also free at Daventry but there is no parking at Lower Mounts, nearest NCP car park is St Michaels.
What subject areas will be represented?

Representatives from every subject area will be in attendance at the Open Event. For a full list of the subjects we offer please visit the courses section of our website.
What if I’m hearing impaired?

We have a signer available at the Open Event who can communicate using British Sign Language. Please let us know in advance if you require assistance on arrival.

Are refreshments provided?

You will be able to purchase both hot and cold drinks, as well as a range of snacks and confectionery.
Do I have to be there for the whole event?

No! You can drop in at any time and stay for as long or as little as you like. Although we would recommend that you come as early as possible so that you have enough time to talk to tutors and have a look around. There will also be a Principal’s talk at each event. Talk times will be included in your reminder email.
How do I apply for a course?

Do I have to pre-register to be able to attend?

Everyone is welcome at our Open Events whether you’ve pre-registered or not! However, pre-registering means you can bypass the registration queue when you arrive because we’ll already have your details.
Do any family members I’m bringing need to pre-register?

No, only prospective students are required to register to attend an Open Event.
