Coming to college will give you the chance to leave your schooldays behind and work in real life environments and be taught by experienced industry experts.

Would you like to swap the classroom for a purpose-built studio, workshop or salon, or ‘earn while you learn’ in your new role as an apprentice?

Perhaps you would benefit from studying one of our T Levels - a mixture of college-based learning and on-the-job experience?

Whatever you decide, college is the first step on an exciting journey that will bring you new opportunities and help prepare you for your future career.

Our study programmes

If you are aged 16-18, you will join a study programme - this could be a vocational or technical qualificationna and will include a core subject in your chosen field that will lead to your main qualification and give you the knowledge and skills you will need to thrive in the workplace and in adult life.

If you choose to study a T Level qualification, this will involve college-based theory and practical lessons along with relevant work placement to enable you to gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours that employers are looking for.

Or, you could bridge the gap between school and university by studying A Levels at our Sixth Form Centre and take the next steps on your academic journey.

If you have not yet achieved a GCSE at least grade 4/5 or above in both English and maths, you will have the chance to retake those exams.

We work closely with local employers to arrange valuable work experience and local enterprise opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to progress to a higher level of study as college courses are a good route to university.

If you have a learning difficulty or disability; we have a team that will help you to make sure everyone has the same opportunities to achieve their best.

Meanwhile, if your GCSEs haven't gone as well as you hoped, if you don't know what area of study you want to pursue, or if you don't have any qualifications, our Foundation Programmes will provide you with the help and support you need to discover your next step and get things back on track.

You’re sure to find a programme to suit your skills and interests at Northampton College, and our friendly team will help you decide on the best course of action for you.
