The chance to study law at university seemed a distant dream for Lauren Appleton when her GCSEs didn’t go to plan, but having undertaken a business course at Northampton College that dream is now becoming a reality.
The 20-year-old from Earls Barton is set to embark on a new chapter in her life at De Montfort University and said the turnaround in her fortunes was down to the one-to-one support she received at college.
She said: “I was able to really concentrate on my work and got much more attention from my teachers which made a big difference. I really enjoyed the legal elements of my business course and I can’t wait to study law.”
Lauren started on the Level 1 Functional Skills course and has progressed on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma, achieving the highest possible grades and earning valuable work experience with major corporate firms such as Barclays.
