Be at the cutting edge of one of the fastest growing industries out there. The world of competitive gaming is an international phenomenon with millions of fans and LOTS of money to be made.

This new course will focus on the business side of Esports - it is not a course focused on playing video games. You will be setting up Esports tournaments in our brand new purpose built Esports Arena in our new Digital Academy. You will focus on marketing your events through a range of digital platforms, as well as broadcasting tournaments on streaming platforms such as Twitch.

In addition, you will also develop your video production skills, manning cameras and sound equipment as well as working in the control room using a vision mixer to broadcast professional looking tournaments. Your video production skills will also be used to create edited promotional material to post to a range of digital platforms to promote your events.

You will need to be a confident communicator in order to essentially 'sell' your Esports events and widen your audience. In addition, you will also be developing your skills as an Esports commentator, or Shoutcaster.

Delivery methods will include practical workshop sessions in our PC suites with industry standard software. Classroom-based theory sessions are supported by IT and computer-based research and educational visits to industry trade fairs and other Esports industry-related events. There will also be the opportunity to get a better understanding of the world of work through work experience opportunities, where possible.

After studying the new Level 3 Esports at Northampton College you will have the opportunity to further your aspirations by progression on to university or into the work place with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make your mark in the eSports world.
