Mental health and wellbeing

Our Wellbeing and Mental Health team offer support to all students who may experience mental health conditions that could affect their progress at college.

We offer weekly one to one and small group tutorial sessions so that students can identify strategies to help them manage at college, such as support with exams, use of a ‘safe space’ and having a ‘named person’ to talk to.

We also talk to teachers to help them understand how learning may be affected by conditions such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, or bipolar conditions. Teachers are advised on the various adjustments that can be made in the classroom to help students progress towards achieving their qualifications.

The team also run sessions on Healthy Lifestyles, Improving Sleep, Protective Behaviours, Managing Friendships and Relationships and Staying Safe Online.
