This Level 4 qualification is designed to support your professional development as a practitioner working within a school or college. It recognises and builds on your existing experience, knowledge, and skills in a teaching and learning environment. Throughout the course, you'll be challenged both in your daily practice and in your theoretical understanding. You?ll develop and apply key skills in leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection through work-based learning opportunities. Once you achieve this qualification, you?ll be recognised as an Advanced Practitioner - equipped to use essential leadership skills to mentor and support colleagues across various roles and responsibilities within your school or college.

  • What will I study?

    The units you will study are likely to include:

    Core units:

    • Enabling individuals to learn
    • Understand how to support children and young people to improve their mental health and wellbeing
    • Working with others to support individuals with additional needs and disability in a school or college setting
    • Working with families and other professionals in a school or college setting
    • Implementing change in school or college setting.

  • Who is this course for?

    This course a work based qualification and is for those who are already working in a school or college and are over 19 years of age. Learners must already have GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics, both at grade 4 and hold a level 3 Childcare qualification or be working in a level 3 role.   • How is the course assessed?

    All units are internally assessed using a range of methods which could include direct observation in the workplace, written assignments and professional discussions.

    You will need access to research materials, general study materials. Th course fees can be paid in instalments over 10 equal payments, by way of Advanced Learner Loan (speak to the Enrolmen team for more information on 0300 123 2344 or your employer may wish to be invoiced for the fees.

    Once you have applied our experienced Enrolment Team will consider your application carefully and will let you know, by email, if the College would like to make you an offer based on you meeting the specified entry requirements.
