Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving you the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and an offer of an interview with an employer upon completion.
If you?re looking to start a career in construction, this course gives you the practical skills and confidence to take your first step. You?ll learn by doing, working in college workshops and supported sessions to develop real, job-ready abilities.
You?ll cover key areas such as health and safety, painting, carpentry and basic plumbing, while also building an understanding of safe working practices and site regulations. You?ll prepare for your CSCS Green Card and gain the knowledge needed to access construction sites safely.
This course suits ambitious individuals who want a hands-on route into work, enjoy practical learning, and are ready to build a future in a growing industry. You?ll also develop transferable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and reliability.
On completion, you could progress into roles such as housing, commercial builds, infrastructure, retrofit, refurbishment, and industrial projects, or move on to further study within construction at a higher level.
This programme runs for seven weeks at our Booth Lane campus in Northampton, combining daytime college sessions with a dedicated week of both daytime and evening learning, with timings varying across weekdays.
