This apprenticeship provides awareness and the basic knowledge and skills development of general engineering activities across a range of disciplines and prepares the apprentice for further skills development. You will learn basic engineering skills. Your practical workshop sessions will cover hand fitting skills, how to operate a manual lathe and milling machine as well as learning assembly techniques, disassembling and reassembling a range of products. Upon completion of your training, you will progress onto your End-point Assessment where you will undertake a practical observation professional discussion.

    City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)

  • Who is this course for?

    This course is designed to introduce the apprentice to a range of mechanical manufacturing operations, developing their practical skills and knowledge, ideal if you have an interest in mechanical engineering.

    Maths and English GCSE grade 3-9 (or equivalent)

  • Admissions Process

    There is no set start date for this apprenticeship. However, there are two ways become an apprentice at Northampton College:
