The intrepid NC Moon Movers team have just about recovered from an epic Moonwalk London.
My team, which was captained by Karin Keir-Bucknall, also featured college staff Jane Brittan, Melanie Collins, Paula Price, Rosemary Slootweg, Steph Lee-Vae and myself.
This was by far the most difficult challenge we’ve ever completed. The MoonWalk London isn’t just a walk — it’s an overnight marathon of sheer determination.
Brutal at times, with sleep deprivation kicking in early, blisters forming by mile 10, and the notorious toilet queues testing everyone’s patience — but somehow, we did it. All 26.2 miles, through the night, with team spirit to light the way.
The atmosphere was electric at the start, and the support from volunteers was incredible throughout. London by night was beautiful, surreal even — but make no mistake, this was no easy stroll. It was physically exhausting, mentally draining, and emotionally overwhelming. But also incredibly rewarding.
Would we do a challenge next year? Yes. Would we do this one again? Honestly, once is probably enough — but what an unforgettable once it was.
The team are just a few pounds shy of their target of £2,900 and with your support they can get over the line. If you can, please give generously on our fundraising page!
