Exciting plans for Northampton College's new building at Badby Road West have been approved by Daventry District Council, subject to government endorsement.

The plans are being developed following the College's successful bid to the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) for £6.5M of funding from the Local Growth Fund for a completely new campus in the town that will offer vocational training for young people and adults.

The government grant was awarded on condition that the College invests match funding from its own resources. The sale of some of the land at Badby Road West, approved by the planning committee in July, was critical to this plan.

Facilities will include specialist workshops for engineering and science labs, as well as state of the art library facilities and learning resources. There will be contemporary hairdressing and beauty therapy salons, well-equipped ICT suites, teaching space for healthcare and childcare plus dedicated provision for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
