Careers are being brought to life this month as hundreds of students get set for Skills Fest 2016 where they will try their hand at everything from presenting the weather and mixing a musical track to lifestyle blogging, spray painting a car, software coding and practising a perfect manicure.
try your hand at presenting the weather forecastSkills Fest 2016, taking place on Friday, 22 April, is the brainchild of Northampton College and is designed to inspire both existing and prospective students to sample a whole range of courses and potential careers.

More than 30 taster sessions have been lined up in the College's Booth Lane campus' workshops, studios, suites, outdoor pitches, gyms and auditoriums and young people signed up for two of these 45 minute masterclasses are then invited to the Skills Fest after show party, which features a DJ set from Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing and a performance by Alien Uncovered, a band which got through to last year's live shows of The X Factor.
