We are committed to supporting each of our students in every aspect of college life.

From advice on study skills to personal support and finances, you can learn about our cross-college student support, or read on to find out more about the additional support on offer for our university level students.

Applying for a course

We recommend that you apply for your chosen university level programme as soon as you can, to give yourself time to apply for a Student Loan from the Student Loans Company to cover the fees of the course. It will also give you time to attend our University Level open events and meet staff before you enrol.

You can view our University Level courses using our Course Explorer, then click into your chosen course to apply - this will take you to the University Level application form. If you are currently studying on a level 3 programme at the college and know that you want to continue studying with us by progressing to an HNC or HND, please speak to your tutor who can discuss your options with you.

If you have any questions please contact our Enrolment team on 0300 123 2344 or via email and we’ll be happy to advise you.

Once you have applied we will be in touch, either to invite you for interview or to make you an immediate offer, depending on the entry requirements of the course you have chosen. We will also offer you the chance to visit the College to enable you to learn more about what is involved in studying at University Level at Northampton College. The visit will give you the opportunity to meet staff and current students and to see our facilities and resources and help you in your decision-making.

What can I do after college?

Many of our University Level students go on to complete their degrees at one of many universities across the country for a further one or two years – an extremely cost-effective way of achieving two qualifications. We have close links with several local universities that help with that progression route if you wish to remain local to complete your degree. HND graduates enjoy this extra year or two and find they do well in their final undergraduate assessments, largely due to the skills, knowledge and confidence they gain during their time at Northampton College.

Other students successfully go into employment or set up their own businesses in their chosen vocational area or gain promotion within their workplaces - our staff are always happy to talk through these options with you.
