Northampton College is delighted to announce the launch of its A Level programme at Booth Lane, giving students more choice, more flexibility and more independence.

Our Sixth Form Centre bridges the gap between school and university and is designed to provide students aged 16-18 with an enriching and challenging academic experience.

The curriculum has been carefully designed to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and to ensure young people gain qualifications necessary for successful progression into higher education, apprenticeships or future careers. With inspirational guidance and support, we encourage students to aim high.

Students will engage in three core A Level subjects, each receiving 4.5 hours of delivery per week, spread over three 1.5-hour sessions. This model ensures maximum regular contact with each subject, enabling a deep understanding of the course material and encouraging active participation in class discussions.

Academic progress will be complemented by an additional 1.5 hours per week dedicated to interpersonal/soft and green skills. This time will be devoted to nurturing essential life skills and building confidence, allowing students to excel not only academically but also in their personal development.

A Levels are two-year courses, and all students must select three A Levels from subjects including English Literature, English Language, History, Politics, Psychology, Law, Business, Media, Sociology, Environmental Science, Economics, Criminology and Art.
