Two aspiring chefs have been given a taste of success after being shortlisted for the semi-final of the Young Pastry Chef of the Year award.

Second year students, Austin Howsam and Dan James have been recognised for their delicious desserts and perfect pastries in the national competition.

They will now compete against 18 other ambitious pastry students from across the UK as they head into the semi-finals of the competition.

For the next round both Austin and Dan will have to design a contemporary chocolate-inspired entremets in just under five hours.
