Northampton College, Jobcentre Plus and ACS Recruitment have once again secured jobs for unemployed people through a new scheme aimed at getting unemployed people back into work. Designed to help meet the needs of local employers, a Sector Based Work Academy helps those who are ready for work and receiving benefits to secure employment, whilst also fulfilling the immediate and future recruitment needs of local businesses.

Following the success of a pilot scheme in Corby, a four-week Warehouse and Storage Sector Based Work Academy was launched at Northampton College in June with the support of ACS Recruitment and Jobcentre Plus. Nine candidates were enrolled on the course and have been given hands-on practical training in Warehousing and Storage as well as general employability advice and support. They have all achieved a Level 1 qualification in Warehousing and Storage and Employability and Personal Development and will go on to gain their Power Pallet Truck Licence (PTT) over the coming weeks.
