Our higher education students join us from all over the country and from Europe and further overseas. Many of our students come from the local area within Northampton and the surrounding towns and villages. We welcome students of all ages including those leaving school sixth forms. However, many of our higher education students are adults returning to education with a clear commitment to their chosen career path.
Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) and Higher National certificates (HNCs) are technical and professional qualifications designed for those who have a clear idea about the career path they want to follow.
When you join a higher education programme at the College, you will be taught by industry professionals and gain access to work experience placements in a variety of live environments. Our teachers have extensive experience in their professional field and boast impressive CVs. We have developed external links with a range of external organisations.
Feedback on the College’s higher education indicates that it was very highly rated in the National Student Survey of 2015 with scores above sector average for teaching quality, staff expertise and and assessment and feedback. See the full details here.
All our higher education programmes are taught at our state of the art Booth Lane campus. See our virtual tour.
Some courses including our part time HNCs and Higher Level Apprenticeships are taught in your place of work with time spent in college to top up your knowledge.
Higher education students enjoy a dedicated study area within the library and can take advantage of additional privileges including a more relaxed dress code and unsupervised access to some workshops and teaching rooms. Students are currently developing their own online magazine for others on HE programmes.
